From the Desk of Dr. Brittain
Dear Family and Friends,
Let us celebrate the Truth that “Christ the Lord has risen today,” and rejoice and be glad in it (the Truth)! Sing with me!
The enclosed song was written by Charles Wesley (1707-1788), a patriarch and co-founder of the Methodist Church, with his brother, John Wesley. Together they presented Methodism, a new method of reaching the people with the Word and song through Evangelism on street corners in England.
I grew up in the Methodist Church, where I received a great foundation of love for the Bible truths and serving the people. I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in March, 1972 at the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship in Hickory, and my life changed dramatically. The scriptures came alive with understanding as the
Holy Spirit was revealing truths to me like I had never known! Words of songs I had sung in church for years jumped off the page with truth! I cried as I studied the Bible with a hunger I had never known.
In my book, “And There is More”, I go on to tell Ralph’s and my story of how God called us to be a part of the founding of “New Covenant Church” in Hickory with a group of friends from the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship in Hickory. We made an appointment with our Pastor and his wife to share with them why we were leaving the Methodist Church, as Ralph had been raised Methodist also. They understood the Call and blessed us so that we could leave as “sent ones”. Read our book, “And There is More”. In 1980, Ralph and I founded Christian Ministries Fellowship, later named Healing Springs Church, Hickory, NC.
In closing, I want to speak a Blessing over you and pray that this Easter will have more meaning to you and direction for your life than ever before!
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. KJV
Rejoice in the Lord
for He is Risen,
P.S. Read John 17 and see what the Lord says about you.
Dear Partners and Friends,
I look forward to sharing with you today with the hope that you will desire to “delve into His Presence today with fervor”, as Jesus’ disciples did as they followed Him daily. Jesus taught them by Word and example for three years that He was truly “the Way, the Truth and the Life”, and that no man comes to the Father except by Him.
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. KJV
Jesus was preparing His disciples for his death and resurrection in John, Chapters 14-16, knowing they would have to walk through “The Way” with Him. In John 17:1-5 Jesus is talking to Father God on their and our behalf.
1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. KJV
My prayer today for you who have received Jesus as your Saviour and Lord is that you would get into His Presence and studyJohn, Chapters 15, 16 and 17 until you can hear and seeall that Jesus wants to reveal to youas He did to His disciples.
He wanted them and you to know that the Father would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, when Jesus went back to the Father.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: KJV
The Holy Spirit is our teacher as He reveals the TRUTH from the throne room of God.
Jesus prepared His disciples and us to take the Gospel into all the world with and by the power of the Holy Spirit with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus spoke to His disciples during the forty days after He arose from the dead and said—
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. KJV
He is saying the same thing to you today. “Have you received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit yet?” If not, call me, and I will pray for you. If so, are you praying in tongues? If not, call me, and I will pray with you to receive your prayer language. My phone number is (828) 327-8888.
“Be strong and of a good courage”
Have you ever considered that God was the originator of Valentine’s Day? He showed true love to us by making the monumental sacrifice of giving His Son Jesus to be crucified on the cross for us to be born-again.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. KJV
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. KJV
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.KJV
Accept the love of Christ today and show His love to others.
